>>thanks, Chris. It seems there's a longer list of folks from UT going to GL than Devcon. Would you care to hazard a guess as to why?

>I think price is a major factor. You get almost as much at GLGDW as you do at the other Devcons for less than half the price. The hotel is cheaper than staying at a resort. I think the conference generally has a more friendly and fun atmosphere. I think that has a lot to do with Whil and his wife. That isn't so say that the other Devcons aren't friendly, but I think you get a tighter-knit group of developers at GLGDW. Also, Milwaukee is pretty fun. There are some nice restaurants you can walk to... and plenty of beer :-).

It's also a great break for all us Southerners to cool off for a few days. I'm thinking Milwaukee will be fairly cold in November. It wasn't that warm last year in October, however for the most part the weather was fairly pleasant when the wind wasn't blowing. For me, it was a welcome change. The Advisor DevCons are held either in the desert or Florida saunas. We did luck out one year where it turned cold in Arizona. However, it was unseasonably cold and no one was really prepared for it.
