>>>You really think that VFP is marketed outside the VFP community?

I do not know that they are marketing it to the VFP community - we don't need to be marketed to about VFP, we know it is a great tool. I am an advocate of VFP to other developers that I know. So I am marketing it.

>We can't change the past. Yes they did well in the past. I prefer looking for what could come in the future. And to me it does'nt look so bright. Lots of marketing efforts on .Net Not much on VFP.

The future looks extremely bright... just not if you insist on only working with one tool. There are some very exciting things being done with development tools, databases, operating systems, servers, wireless technologies, etc.

>So we get back to another answer I gave you. VFP does the job so do other tools. But in certain cases VFP is the perfect choice based on one person's experience and the application needing to be developed. There's a high probability that the tools with the worst marketing won't make it.

That is absolutely true... VFP may eventually go away, but crying over it and blaming Microsoft for it will do nothing. If Microsoft sees no future growth with the product they probably will eventually discontinue it... can you blame them?
