I would suggest, to the first question, that you wouldn't want to stop the thread as the next commetn could be really great and may be an even better solution to your problem than the one you got first. Also, many times a question will beign a thread that goes on for a long time with alot of information passing around. These threads can be invaluable in learning a lot more than the answer to the question.
