Jamie,

That's REALLY great to hear! Of course Australia has always taken a slightly different "evolutionary path" from the rest of the world, so it shouldn't be surprising < s >.

More seriously though I would credit that a lot to sensible management. At least in North America the case is that the vast majority of decision makers tend towards the highly publicized "tool de jour". They are especially good at remembering negatives about most anything, including rumours of pending product demises (as happened around 10 years ago!!!).
On the other hand, I am sure that there are a handful of shops that mirror your bank experience. They are rare though.

cheers

>>To stand by and accept the current situation regarding VFP marketing is an option all right, but it does portend a very limited future for VFP. The platitudes are heart-warming, but they don't really add to the widespread exposure of VFP.

>I think that I must live on a different planet to the rest of the VFP development world. I just came from a VFP contract at Australias largest bank where the VFP development is GROWING and taking away work from the VB / Oracle development teams. IT management continually see better apps delivered on time there.

>Surely if this can happen at such a large organisation then product awareness (at least in Australia) will grow.

>Ps. I finished the contract and chose to move on to another more lucrative VFP position - the bank didn't decide to shrink VFP developer numers.
