Now that is FUD... Did you have to learn every single command and function to use VFP? No. Did you have learn EVERY single method to use ADO? No.

You learn as you go... NOBODY will ever know every facet of every class. And when you need to use something, there is this neat thing called on-line help and the on-line docs!

Your friend may have syntax that looks like Delphi/Pascal - but to do anything with the CLR, he has the same learning curve as the other 5 million VB developers that are dreading the transition.

The only thing I will agree with is that it is indeed about the framework, not the language...
