>The only reason Microsoft does not market VFP is money.

To the extent that marketing dollars cannot be recouped...

<<
Microsoft certainly doesn't want any more companies to know how good and inexpensive a product VFP is for handling data. VFP is simply too good at what it does - process and manipulate data. One copy of VFP in the hands of one good programmer can build applications that meet and exceed the requirements of an organization with hundreds of users. Compare that is any other product Microsoft has for the same amount of money - there is none! It's all about money! Microsoft is the role model for corporate America - mislead, misinform or fail to divulge what's best for customers and clients all in the name of GREED.
<<

But if that is true, then why hasn't MS marketed the product? They own VFP. Are you saying that VFP is a perfect replacement for .NET and that the only reason why MS created .NET was so they could charge more $'s? What about the billions of $'s in development costs? Why would they bet the company on it if the solution was there the whole time?

I think the problem is that you have limited your analysis to processing and manipulating data. If that is all there was, I think your points would be valid.
