F4-key works also; we Subclassed this for use in one Project:

Combobox:Gotfocus()
IF EMPTY(THIS.VALUE)
   KEYBOARD '{F4}'
ENDIF

This way, only drops down initially and not after User enters something and later comes back to Edit, etc...
