Your learning curve from VFP to C# or any other .net language starts from zero. VB to VB.Net is not that difficult. In my case for example (I can program in VB but I considered myself not adept on this one), it's very easy to understand and jump into VB.Net because most syntax and commands are the same and familiar. If you're only coming from VFP alone you have two things to learn: the specific language architecture including syntax and commands, and the .Net framework. If you're coming from C family and I heard one of the guest in the .Net show saying that in 2 weeks time, you will be significantly comfortable with C#.Net.

>Point missed here. He may know Delphi syntactically, but he will have to learn the framework and its 3000+ classes just like the rest of us. Your friend may have syntax that looks like Delphi/Pascal - but to do anything with the CLR, he has the same learning curve as the other 5 million VB developers that are dreading the transition.
