>One thing I'd like to ask you, as you tried both, is about the menus, that are created as classes in MM, which makes it easy to show them or not depending on the user's priviledges. And it is really nice to be able to let the user localize the captions, as I will have a system that is going to be used in Brazil and France. I think I could make the menu pads disabled in CM, but could I get rid of them ?
In Codemine, whilst you can disable menus dependent on security and other features, you cannot remove the pads because Codemine uses the native VFP menu system. However, you are completely at liberty to use any of the third party offerings like MenuLib
http://www.hidb.com/menulib/ a class based menu system for VFP or, genmenux and use its commands to remove pads dependent on conditions.
I personally have never found this to be an issue. When I first started using Codemine, I had a list of things that I wanted to cover. Menus was one of them. However, when I accepted that I was using menus just like I did in 2.6, it became a non-issue. With the third party tools I have mentioned, it becomes a no-brainer, so use the framework you like best overall and just try to work around minor issues where you can.
