Julie;
My experience is that FP 2.X files become corrupted more easily than VFP files. In either case turning off the power with files opened can cause the problem, as well as a list of other things. Dirty power sources (your AC line input from the power company) or old computer power supplies can also cause these types of problems.
You can detect a dirty power source with a line monitor which rental companies have available. An example is if there are any SCR's on your power line they can cause problems leading to lost data. The SCR does not have to be in your office but on the same leg of your connection to the power transformer.
FoxFix is a product that can solve this type of problem. Try:
http://www.hallogram.com/index.htmlInquire if the latest product will work with FP 2.X.
Also, Stonefield Database Toolkit can be included with your application to repair these types of problems should they occur. You will have to check to see if the latest version will work with FP 2.X

>We are currently experiencing major problems with our memo fields in a FoxPro 2.5 application and are hoping to find someone out there that can give us some direction in how to correct the problem. We have 2 memo fields in a table and somehow the memos have become corrupt. Our company uses the memos for critical edit tracking and need them restored correctly. Does anyone know how to retrieve the memos properly and what might be the cause of the corruption? This has happened a couple of times.
