No, in fact I can access the drive in another part of the program. I am further mystified by the following: I run XP(home) on my development machine. When I issue getdir() on this machine I get one style of dialog box. When I install my app (.exe) to a different machine also running XP(home) getdir() displays a different (older?) style of dialog. This behavior is very curious! Could it in any way have something to do with the .dll files that I install (with InstallShield Express 3.53)? I thought maybe I could solve the whole mess just by using the common dialog if I just knew how. TIA.
