I do have other active columns> I can click in them with the mouse and enter data and the respective methods fire but the cursor will not advance to the next column form them either. Once I have brought up a form from a Valid the cursor basicallly disappears unless I click on the field and it disappears as soon as I TAB or ENTER to move to the next field. If I call the same form with a right click to bring up a contxt menu then there is no problem - it is only when the form is called from the valid.
Also it is no tjust one column or one supplemental form - I have other that come up as required and they all cause the same problem.

I tried your suggestions - SetFocus cannot be called from a Valid but it did nothing when I put it in the LostFocus. Also DOEVENTS did nothing either.
