That's a complete nonsense comparison. MSFT pours money into XBox because it's a rear guard action against Sony. MSFT is afraid that Sony will turn the PlayStation into a business machine and cut the legs out from under MSFT. It's an OS play, not a product play. Apples and oranges.

...and unfortunately, it's not catching on. Third party developers aren't writing games on XBox in any great numbers. That's part of the reason MSFT deeply discounted the price of the XBox. Like Office XP, it's not selling.
