>I am not sure if 0-based indexing is the correct term, but I am wondering why in .NET the first element of an array starts is indexed with 0. I know this is done in 'C', but I can't remember the rational for it.
This is one of those long debates. :)
This is the same for javascript as well as a bunch of other environments. I always found it more difficult to handle those ones like that. However, each developer as its own opinion. I believe in VFP, it's more easier to manipulate an array when the first element is indexed at 1. I believe there is also a request to have the 0 based index supported as well. So, it depends on each developer's POV. However, it would be cool if those environments would support such an ability to indicate the 0 based indexing or 1 based indexing.
