I'm glad this helped. What I was thinking is that if you stepped through with the debugger you could monitor the recno() and your other variables to see how they measure up. You could also open up a datasession, while in debugger mode, select the table in question and move from one record to another and see what the recno() changes to or verify what the recno() is of the record you plan on going to.
