>>YAG is a generous and knowledgeable person and I view his present position as “the handwriting on the wall”. <<

I only ever met him once, pre VFP. We went out for dinner and ended up at a theme restaurant run by an eccentric lady who came out and planted a huge floppy floral hat on YAG. He wore it for the rest of the dinner, I think I still have photos.

YAG has sold his company and was probably looking for a new sort of challenge. dotNET is at an early stage, probably right up his alley. There is no question of his trying to retain a position as a VFP "leader", he made a clean break as you pointed out. It's a Shame that others who claim to have split can't quite seem to go away and inflict themselves on their new peers.

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
