Eight years ago we lived in Minden, Nevada, and I would attend the FoxPro User Group meetings in Sacramento and San Jose. It was about a 4-6 hour drive over the Sierra Nevada Mountains - one way. People still joke about my trips to civilization especially the blizzard I went through. I did this to retain my sanity which is still under investigation.

We ended up back where we started - in Silicon Valley. Our daughter at the time we lived in Nevada was 13 and said, “Let’s never again live where we like to vacation”! The wisdom of a child is not to be underrated! By the way - we have not been back to that area (Lake Tahoe - Nevada) since we left in 1994. So much for vacations!

>SCARY! I can see it though! The problem is that I used to knit years ago and there are groups for that already. Of course, we do not have a local users group where I am or I would attend. The closest is 1.5 hrs away (would still attend if I could get any information from anyone-I've sent emails to the contacts for Durham, Triangle, and Greensboro and all came back as undeliverable). By the time I finally get to a meeting here in NC they will probably be knitting at the VFP user groups too...
