oh yeah, and for what it's worth --

the stuff i'm writing to CD -- each piece might be anywhere from 80MB
to 150MB in size. and it's all or nothing for each piece ....
i.e. if there isn't enough room remaining on the CD for the whole
next piece, i don't even start to write that piece to that CD --
i start a new CD. wasteful ?? perhaps, but this is kind of like
library books on a shelf. if the whole book doesn't fit on one
shelf, they don't tear it in half and put the first part of the book
on one shelf and the rest of the book on the next shelf :)

so, i guess the point is, that some space will get "wasted" no
matter what.
