>I am trying to create a simple ascii listing using "to file xxxx ascii". It works however I get a blank row between each row of data. Is there any way I can eliminate the blank row between each row of data. Client says they will go in an eliminate it by hand if necessary, but I thought I would try here first. This is a quick and dirty for the client.

My solution is to create text-files with commands like "?" and "??". I created an entire class to duplicate most of the functionality of the report writer - REPORT TO ASCII was not satisfactory for me, either.
The problem with my class is that, well, you have to rewrite all your reports. No quick solution for existing reports.
If you are still interested, search the download section for "text report". Apart from my solution, you will find at least one other solution, which I didn't analyze in detail (since it is easier, for me, to stick with the class I know well). However, the other solution seems to cover all the requirements of a reporting system, too.
