I don't know about the OCX. But:
Most programmers here (including me) recommend to keep images as separate files (JPG or GIF). There is no practical use for general fields. Reasons:
1) Space problems. On tests, a 50 KB JPG file took more than 1 MB in the table (as a general field).
2) It is easy to get pictures into the general field. But it is difficult to get them back out (to a file).
