Len;

One of the most disgusting sights that was repeated over and over on our television was each of the two planes hitting the WTC. Some channels saw fit to show the impact and explosion and then back up the tape and show it crash into the building over and over. After several weeks of this I was past livid! Changing the channel was an instant reflex.

Last night a program on television expressed concerned about the number of people depressed because of the events concerning the WTC last year. The number is huge and the closer to the WTC you are the greater the number of depressed persons. Psychologists through out the nation are doing the study. The concern is that showing and dwelling on this topic is not healthy. I do not think mental health is the concern of the politicians and marketing persons involved. Somehow the bums have to sell it and prove how patriotic they are in the process. Their plans may backfire.

>I wasn't trying to make any comment about America's historical actions, in my own inept way I was agreeing with your original sentiments about the not going to extremes in remembering the day.

>It is possible to remember & commemorate the dead without making a big issue of it, running the risk of creating "cult worship", as you said.
