The only thing I found is the following article:
Knowledge Base Article Q240867, "INF: How to Move, Copy and Backup SQL 7.0 Full-Text Catalog Folders and Files."

The article discusses the fact that the ID's for the tables and indexes must match between databases for the DTS transfer to work. I will probably continue to look into this so I can get it done correctly.

If you find out more please advise....
