>I need to know if/how to subclass from one main class used by the company to several different subclasses for each project. First of all, is this prudent? I think it is, but some of you may not. Secondly, I have made a class library called tp_controls, which has all the base controls for VFP, except custom, container, and one or two others. I have easily subclassed this to other projects, no problem. I also have a class lib called app, which contains several classes that are used throughout the various systems. These classes are based on custom.

Is it possible to successfully subclass this control, and other custom controls, and have the objects point to the project controls subclass somehow, rather than directly to the main class library tp_controls?

One of the quite recent FoxTalk issues (Feb or March 2002) contained an article about subclassing classes to work on different projects. Unfortunately, I forgot all details at this moment. Try to search on FoxTalk website...
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
