you can sub-class all you want; Many people recommend the type of prolific sub-classing you're talking about; Perhaps only lazy people like me don't do it that much. We had some discussion here last week about whether or not it slows things down. The answer was 'no' that it does not slow the execution down at all. You already know how to sub-class. Just create a new class library, then in the class browser you create a class and select the class you want to base it on from your class library rather from the VFP standard object. If you really think you're going to change the behavior of the object for each project, then I guess you should do it.
