I had removed the BITMAP=OFF before I did the sp5 upgrade. I went back this morning and placed it in/out of the config.fpw file, but the problem never appeared again. Thought you might want to know in case someone else has this problem. Now I wonder if it was truly a problem triggered by my particular SQL assemble/run procedure or in fact a bug in vfp6sp3.
