How to handle loss of network connectivity?
Running a client/server app, is it possible to detect that network connectivity has been lost, trap that error and the gracefully shutdown the app? Use this scenario: You open the app, connected to a SQL server via ODBC, while the app is running the network cable is pulled out or the server is rebooted... anything that accidently causes loss of connectivity. Then next time there is activity from within the app you will receive an "Invalid Seek Offset" error which causes a blowup.
Is there a way to stop short of a blowup and exit the app? Any dirction would be greatly appreciated. I tried to provide as much as possible, but I'll be glad to clarify if needed.
Thanks,
Mark
