UPDATED: Found out that this does not have anything to do with being connected to my LAN... I think...
Hi,
Hopefully someone can give me some leads on this... I've checked several other sites after a Google search and none of the recommended remedies worked, at least not completely.
Oracle 8.1.7 is installed on my laptop and there is nothing related to Oracle on the server. My laptop and server are both Win2000 SP3.
If sqlnet.ora SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES=(NTS), all of the oracle services start except the OracleOraHome81ManagementServer. I can start the database, connect, query from VFP, login as a SYSDBA, etc. However, I cannot login to the Enterprise Management Console, receiving the VTK-1000 error.
If I change sqlnet.ora to sqlnet.ora SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES=(NONE), I can open the Enterprise Management Console, but can never login to the database as a SYSDBA, regardless of the username (even while using the SYS, SYSMAN or SYSTEM). Which is basically useless since I can't start the database!
Any ideas?
Thanks,
- Brian
