>I wasnt even considering demographics....but any way you add it up seems to me delphi still has a LOT more users - both in and out of North America. Plus, I've also talked to a few people that have thought about it, but did not switch to Delphi...and 80%+ primary reason for not switching? Because it's not a Microsoft product....even if the conclusion was that it was a better tool most people that I've talked to that considered it but didn't make the switch didn't because they were worried about the livelyhoold of Borland/Delphi. Seems stupid to me - it's lifespan can't be any shorter than VFP's...haha
Delphi user based is in upward trend since Borland introduced Delphi Kylix and it is marketed the way it should, but VFP is in constant downward. It's the perception that Borland is an unstable company that keeps some IT decision makers apprehensive no matter how good the product is. Borland has been known as Inprise before but today it's Borland again.
