Well I can think of people who would be *delighted* to combine the "10%" figure with their own "few hundred" figure to yield a FP user base of 3,000. Armed with the denominator, that sort of FUD is "scuttled and cannot be saved".

If there is a message I'd say it is "get the numbers together and they'll listen". Your point about letters is well taken; recently I read a piece saying that if a politician receives 20 letters from unconnected recipients on the same topic, the politician takes it seriously. How about 2,000 letters, or (going for the 10%) 20,000 letters?
