Admittedly brief reading is not convincing.
I am reminded of the Old chestnut
God is Omnipotent
Therefore there is nothing he cannot do
Therefore he cannot ask himself a question he cannot answer
Therefore he is not omnipotent.
The "fallacy" is using a position to disprove itself.
In the case of this article: Heat escaping from a house is accepted as an Entropic, expected disordering process. Using that to "prove" a preference for Order because the most efficient way is followed to create disorder, is a fallacy.
That more heat escapes through an open window is not a "preference" it is a consequence of insulation. How does obeying physical laws indicate a preference for order?
That the heat escapes at all is still an expected Entropic event- "against" order, not in pursuit of it.

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
