ok...this is interesting but I guess I've gotten off the point. "community" needs to be defined here. Look we all know that the VFP developers are a tight group that communicate well with each other....so yeah there is a cool "community" among VFP developers. BUT just because we're louder, more outspoken, and closer to each other DOES NOT mean that there are more of us. The results? ok a few less books and maybe a couple less conferences. Quite fankly what's the damn differnece between 180 books and 117? Heck I'm lucky if I read a dozen a year! At that rate by the time I read all these, Delphi and VFP wont be around and we'll be dealing with the human-teleporter software or something.
Oh..yeah the JOBS...lets face reality here...you looked at one web site and found a 53/73 difference. Now doesnt that like kinda tell you something right off the bat? Ok so in the USA (which is where 98.7% of the dice.com jobs are located at) this web site shows a mere 50% larger need. Gosh, ok well based on that I was a tad off ..not 2 or 3 times bigger, just a little 50%. Furthermore you can do something as easy as looking at yahoo. Searches for Visual Basic - 309 hits. Delphi - 373 hits. Visual Foxpro 34 hits. I mean come on wake up. geeze.
