>>>Most FoxPro developers have yet to upgrade beyond VFP 6.0, so there is lots of marketing needed and will continue towards the FoxPro community.

>> How did you go about researching this because my research is not producing the same results <<

>Very formal surveys which take months and have very accurate results.

The VFP survey that was conducted a few months ago was badly constructed. It would have lead to highly inaccurate results. I participated in that Microsoft internet survey.

1. The survey dialog asked which version of Foxpro do you currently use for development? There were option buttons for each version, including version 5.0 version 6.0 and version 7.0.
(I selected the version 5.0 option at the time.)
2. The very next dialog box asked: “Why have you not yet purchased VFP 7.0?” and there was only a comments box for a reply!

The survey will therefore inaccurately reflect that I only own VFP 5.0, because they did not ask which versions I had purchased. They only asked which version I was currently mainly using for development.

The survey should have asked “have you purchased version VFP 7.0?” and “Did you purchase version VFP 6.0?”

(At the time, I had already purchased & owned version VFP 6.0 and version VFP 7.0. I have since started using VFP 6.0 as my main development platform (especially because of jpg image support). I have not started using VFP 7.0 because it cannot run on windows95 computers, which some people still have quite a few.)
