>>I'll try to make this brief. I am green when it comes to NT Server, but eager to learn. I am trying to learn by installing NT server on a spare machine I have and connecting one win95 pc. The install seemed to go okay, but I must say I learned a litle from that experience. I haven't got much further as I can't get my pc to connect to the server. I tried netbeui and fiddled with tcpip to no avail. I have to ne2000 compatible cards of the same type and a rj45 cross over cable to connect them. the cards are from dlink(de220et). Can anyone give me a hint onhow to configure the cards/network? I know this is pretty vague, but any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks much!

>First you need to determine whether your physical network is working. Since you're not using a hub, hopefully one or both cards have some status lights you can look at.

If you did not select this, your only alternative is to reinstall NT Server. Once you have this set up, you need to set up the Win95 machine to log on to that domain. This is done through the Network app of the control panel, by choosing "Client for Microsoft Networks" and going to the property page.

Thanks for taking time to respond!!! Can you tell me where I can purchase NT Server resource kit? Is this product mail order or do you think I can find it at a bookstore i.e(Barnes & Noble, Borders etc.)

Happy New year!
