GeorgeT did mention the "Windows Classic" theme, and that is what I run too, so that may be a factor.

On the other hand the install did not select usage of the "Clear Type" option (possibly because of the rating of the CPU). I set it up with Clear Type myself. It makes my screen much nicer to read. Probably because of the speed of the CPU, I can actually see the type improve after it initially shows BUT I doubt that it is "hogging" the processor, since it seems to process AFTER initial showing and I can just as quickly as ever scroll/switch etc. No doubt it uses more CPU but it doesn't interfere with my work at all.
