Well, you can do better than that. You can get a Athlon XP 2100+ (1.73 ghz) with an 80 gb hard drive, 512 mb RAM, DVD-RW and CD-R for around 1,300 bucks. Don't compare the P4 clock with Athlon. The processor I just mentioned should compare favorable to a 2.3-2.5 ghz P4.
