How much RAM do you have? With a 750MHz CPU, XP Pro should run great, unless you only have 128MB. Given that an Athlon is faster than the equivalent Intel at the same MHz, you've got a significantly faster machine than my P3-500MHz, and XP Pro is pretty snappy for me. I do have 320MB RAM in this thing though. The latest games sorta stink because of my slow CPU and video card, but the ones based on, say, Quake III work ok if I don't expect 60fps+ with high detail. Barring that, when it comes to VFP compile and application development, my system is plenty fast (I keep telling myself that anyway...but after a few hours with the top-notch system I helped a friend put together I know how bad mine really is).
