I guess improving the speed of printing is going to depend on locating the performance bottleneck. Make sure you are using a SYS(3050) function so that you are allocating memory to handle the table data as efficiently as possible.

Do you want to print an ASCII report? Use the ASCII switch on the REPORT command. If you are printing through a printer driver, say to an HP printer? If so, check if you can change the properties of the printer driver to print in draft mode.
