>Did I misunderstand something? IF I purchase a MSDN Universal (or Professional or Enterprise) subscription and it last a year. When the year is over, I no longer have any license? I can no longer develop apps with VFP (or use any of the other tools) when the license is expired (the year is over)? I thought I could continue to develop using the latest versions I received while still active via my subscription but would not receive anything new if I did not renew. That is not correct?

You only have to upgrade each year of you want all the new versions that are contained in the next year's worth of updates (which always contains many updates). You could get MSDN Subscriptions for only a year and still be able to use whatever software you obtained for as long as you want, but you would not be able to download updates and you would not receive all the new quarterly CDs that are sent to you with all the latest software updates, versions, docs, etc. etc. I think if you talk to most VFP developers (or other developers) who have some level of MSDN Subscriptions, you would find that they are very satisified with what they get and plan to continue upgrading their subscrption each year (at the discounted upgrade price).
