If you are so anti-Microsoft, why don't you just use another company's products?

OWN those software packages. What you have purchased is the License to use them. They remain the property of Microsoft. So, your TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) is actually TCR (Total Cost of Renting).

If your license is Lincense 6 then you have a limited time period for their usage, after which you must renew the license or send the software back and erase all copies.
