>>Good grief Jerry... You know as well as anyone else that the marketplace is amoral. If you want Microsoft to behave 'better' then convince each of the 50,000+ employees to swear allegiance to a personal code of ethics. The human condition is such that we both know that there are going to be cases where bad things hapen. That's why we have laws.

>Here is another suggestion. If either of you or Jerry find Microsoft, or any other company, to be amoral, then stop buying and using their products.
Your suggestion is FIVE years too late!
I do follow my own advice. At home I have been running Linux totally for three years, and partially for five years.
I use OpenOffice and I listen to rm or oog. I run Kmail, KNode, GIMP, KStars, and FlightGear, to name a few.
My box at work dual boots W2K (which I had to reinstall earlier this week because it bellied up), and Mandrake 8.2.
My office suite at work is OpenOffice.org-1.0.1 and at home StarOffice 6.0. I browse with either Konqueror (which I am using right now on my Mandrake 8.2) or Netscape 6.2, which is the browser we are standardizing on at work. So, at work the only MS products I use are W2K and VFP6. Most of my development work now is with Oracle and Netscape.
Any other suggestions?
