Yes, it was a response to Chris's post, but I just attached it to the last post in the thread. I should have paid more attention to what I was doing at the time.

I'll try to be more careful in the future. Sorry Doug.

>>>Chris,
>>>
>>>>I have seen quite a few threads here recently, complaining about how corrupt Microsoft is, and/or how Microsoft is trying to kill VFP. These complaints have been going on for sometime. I have a very simple solution for everyone complaining: go to Linux/Borland/Oracle, whatever. There are obviously alternatives out there.

>>I have a little trouble with this sort of statement. Now, I'm not one of those who believes that MS is the great evil that has single handedly destroyed our way of life, but I do believe that anyone who pays their dollar has a perfect right to critique what they see as corruption or bad practices. Those who do not buy a ticket should not be in the arena. Clearly, this is pretty much the reverse of what you are saying.
>>
>>The argument that says, "if you don't like it leave, and if you don't leave, then keep your mouth shut" is, at best, condescending nonsense, and at worst, dictatorial.
>>
>>>>By continuing to support Microsoft by giving them your $, then turning round and complaing about how immoral they are, or how they aren't promoting VFP enough, you are coming across as hypocrites.
>>
>>To Chris, maybe. I haven't been complaining about MS in any of these threads (except for one unfortunate statement by Ken that baffles me), but that is only because I don't really agree with the depth and, in many cases, the tenor of the complaints. Certainly, however, I can not accept the argument that these people have no right to express their opinions simply because they've bought the product. To me, these are exactly the people who have that right.

>>>Exactly. Well said. Thanks!
