I am not sure if this will solve your problem, but George Tasker wrote a series of articles at the Virtual FoxPro Users Group,
www.vfug.org, that deals with the Windows Script Host. I think the articles began in September 2000. Using the Windows Script Host may let you rename a file with the case intact.
