>I never thought this would happen again but ... I have picked up a client that has a small system written in FPD26. I am in the process of rewriting this for VFP. But ... the client needs a change to printer forms and I'm having trouble with FPD26 development under W2k on a 1GHz pc. It freezes repeatedly. Does anyone know why this might be happening? As an alternative is their some way I can simply recompile the entire system under VFP and run it character based? So far, the only thing playing with the fonts does is change the way the lines overlay each other.

We never have any W2K problems with FPDos apps (hundreds (??) of users). The contrary : it runs far better (i.e. more stable) than W95/98/NT4. Never applied any specific patches.
I wouldn’t recommend a recompile under VFP (at all), because
It’s "nothing"
It will be far to slow because of internal mapping of output to objects (??)
You will always be having problems with the (proportional) fonts and the positioning.
Any good looking fixed font doesn’t exist (IMHO).
Just too much to do anyway (to find out during time …)
HTH,
