(Thats why they have discontinued it) There is absolutely no comparision between VFP and SQL Server for mid to large applications. I agree for the smaller applications with very little concurrent load it works, however as the number of concurrent users increases performance degrades.

VFP is perfect tools for creating clent side desktop applications, it has wonderful functionality to process SQLServer - the best and scalable database server.
My personal advice is to use VFP(front-end)-SQLServer(back-end) most powerfull combination.
