You see this error if toy have a "Select *" View and the underlying table has changed. VFP stores view definitions in the dbc, they are not updated when you change underlying tables.
This only affects "Select *" views, if you nominate a SELECT field list you only see an error if you remove/rename one of the selected fields.
If all you have done is alter the length/type of a field or change its name, you can usually open the view in the view designer, check the field properties and save it.
I strongly recommend that you download genview.prg from the download section. This creates a program that will recreate your View. You can make necessary changes to the generated program and run it to maintain your views with ease.
Alternatively, buy a copy of xcase (
www.xcase.com ) which allows you to create views in a Case environment. Changes to tables flow through to views. Also if you need to change your backend (e.g. use SQL Server or Oracle) you can select that option and xCase will create an appropriate DBC. It works really well.

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
