I'll try my best to clearly describe the weird situation we're encountering to see if anyone else has experienced this:
In our class library we have a datebox which we subclassed from the textbox class with minor behaviour modifications related to date entry. Under any operating system aside from XP, when the datebox receives focus and you start to key in a date you can see each character as it is being typed.
Under XP, we're finding that only when the datebox is in a grid you cannot see the characters as they are being typed. The original value still shows up as selected even though you can see the cursor move inside the box as each keypress occurs. The only time you see the actual value is when you tab off the field and it loses focus. This does not happen on the datebox when it is outside of a grid under XP. Interestingly enough, we have a user running XP who is not experiencing this at all.
The color scheme on the XP machine we're trying this on is just the default scheme, nothing fancy.
Could anyone shed light on why this behaviour might be happening?
