Some thoughts on getting rid of spam. Based on a post I found on UT, I loaded the free software found at mailwasher.net. If does a great job of getting rid of the spam.
Another great trick is that I bought my own domain name from dotearth.com. It's only $25 for 2 years and they will forward your mail for free. So with that I have the email address anything@Wonderley.com
When I suspect that a company might spam me, I give them an email address that is only for them.
Sure enough I get a lot of junk mail to
nascar@wonderley.com and others. I have filters now that say if the email is addressed to certain email names, kill it before it's even downloaded. Now although I have that unlimited list of email addresses I can use, because dotearth forwards my mail, I only have one email address to check and no one knows it's real name. I now rarely see spam.
Hope it helps
