Currently for a certain tag as in

IDXCOLLATE([cCDXFileName,] nIndexNumber [, nWorkArea | cTableAlias])

or currently as in the current data session

set("Collate")

See, no problem at all. The problem is to know which collating sequences are allowed for which codepages. In versions from 2.6 to 5, you could combine them at will; starting with 6, you can't use Czech, Polish or Hungarian with any tables that don't have a codepage of 1250; likewise, German, Swefin, French - only on 1252; Russian only on 1251.

What I always wished for was a third-party editable collating sequence. That would cover other languages that MSFT has no interest for, and would also ease the life of those who build international apps.
