I totally agree with you about the threads. Since the VFP 8 beta will be passed out at DevCon (along with many of the attendees *g*), I suspect we'll see lots of information become public.

I also prefer to see Ken telling us he is staying up until 1am finalising packaging for the next version of VFP and hopefully releasing more little snippets of information in the future. Its so much better than reading responses to "VFP is dead" or "what are you doing about marketing this blah, blah, blah" or my personal favourite "People Hate FoxPro".
