You can still say you have a SQL database when using VFP as your code base! After all, when you say that you have a SQL database it could be SQL Server or DB2 or ORacle or any number of others, so it can be VFP too.
Additionally, if the compnay does not hire a guru for their flavour of database selected they will almost be committing fraud. They may have a "SQL database" but if it is just thrown together and not properly designed/maintained/etc then it likely will be worse than having a VFP database.
